Why the need?
We are living in an uncertain present and a dreadful future! Uncertain present because we are aware of the crimes, corruptions, law evasions, exploitation of the poor class, devastation of natural resources, the list never ends. Do we know the solution/s for all the problems? Answers may be yes; No; not sure; yes, but I cannot help; yes, but why should I care; yes, but what can I do; yes, but am I equipped to fight it out; yes, but why care as Indians are used to all these issues; yes, but why care as majority of people around me are crooked, selfish, ignorant, etc. If these are our thoughts, we Indians are heading towards a dreadful future, where Darwin’s theory of ‘survival of the fittest’ will prevail. Whosoever is rich in money and immorality will survive and remaining will perish or may have to lead inhuman life. Adharma will prevail everywhere. Law evaders will rule over the law abiders. Altruistic society would become a mirage!
Though we are celebrating 75th year of Indian independence, are we able to achieve the dreams of our freedom fighters? No. They dreamt of a prosperous, egalitarian, fearless India which we have utterly failed to achieve. The dream of the framers of our widely acclaimed constitution, was summarized in the preamble which reads: WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation
Are we successful in achieving all the above said goals in the preamble? The answer is a definite no. Is it because of the systemic and procedural loopholes? Yes to an extent; this can be cured and corrected. But the main problem lies in the indifferent and ignorant people. Democracy can only survive if the people are vigilant, participative, defensive about their rights and observant about their duties. Democracy is not just a form of government which is by the people, for the people and to the people; but should be - by the vigilant people, for the participative people and to the observant dutiful people!
What needs to be done?
Let’s dream of an egalitarian, altruistic Indian society! Today’s dreams are tomorrow’s reality if we strive in the right direction! Let’s find the hindrances in arriving at an altruistic Indian society, let’s find the possible solutions for the same, and let’s find if there are already tried, tested, failed solutions. Let’s analyze and find the pulse of the majority of Indians regarding the possible solutions. There might be innumerable solutions for innumerable problems. But since we are aimed at achieving altruistic India as one society, is it possible to have one or few solutions for all the problems? That is the ‘panacea’ I’m talking about. It might be a laughable-at thought for an ignorant and corrupt Indian, worth trying at thought for an intelligent Indian, might be possible thought for sociologists, legal eminent, true politicians, but it’s definitely an achievable hopeful thought for the determined ‘dutiful citizen’.
Aren’t we living in democracy?
No, not at all! We are living in the autocratic rule of the few uneducated, crooked, corrupt people (exception being fewest!) who are deciding our way of living and fate! Please be updated on the researches and revelations on: http://loksabha.adrindia.org/

Corporate style ‘Escalation Matrix’: Why are our government applications or petitions are not answered for months or years? Lack of responsibility, supervision and escalation. When grievance is filed by a citizen, it needs to be followed up on day-to-day basis, till it is resolved. We will do it for and on behalf of the citizen!
